ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Madlen!

I started my photography business when I was 13 years old, I always knew it was something I was passionate about. Over the years I've photographed everything from birthdays, to weddings, to sporting events. In 2020 I realized that, although the moments I was capturing were all so special, my fire for general photography was quickly shrinking. I decided it was time for a break, I wanted to really stop and refocus on photographing something I truly felt drawn and connected to, and not just anything I could. For me, this was childbirth. Having 3 children myself, I just could not turn down the opportunity to capture the raw emotion and struggle of a mother, and a precious new life's first breath.

I'm lucky enough to be connected with a wonderful group of Midwives and Doulas in my area who I'll be partnering with and offering discounts to clients that they send my way.

WHY I LOVE WHAT I DO

One of my favorite, and probably often overlooked things to photograph during a birth is (believe it or not) hands.

Wether a comforting touch in a moment of doubt, or and strong squeeze during a contraction, many, many, hands are involved in bringing sweet babies earth side.

If theres one thing I know, it's that mom's are so strong. But if there's one thing I've learned it's that childbirth will empower you and break you down all at the same time. I love to capture mom's cry, sing, and pray their way through their most vulnerable moments.
